Media Release: Everest College

Everest Colleges Canada Suspended from Operating in Ontario

BRANTFORD, ON (February 19, 2015) – The Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU) has suspended the registration of Everest Colleges Canada to operate in Ontario as a private college, effective immediately.  It is important to note that Everest College has the opportunity to appeal the suspension within fifteen days.

The suspension of Everest Colleges Canada should not be viewed as a result of mismanagement within the organization; this cessation is an adverse result of the U.S. parent company, Corinthian Colleges, Inc., terminating its operations in the United States last year.  Everest has been an active CCO member for nearly 25 years, and has enjoyed a prominent reputation in Canada’s career college sector.

CCO is diligently working alongside the MTCU to transfer existing Everest College students to alternative career colleges, while ensuring that all current students are properly accommodated.

Everest College has 14 locations in Canada, all of which are located in Ontario.  Their campuses are in Barrie, Brampton, Hamilton, Kitchener, Mississauga, Newmarket, Ottawa, Sudbury, Toronto and Windsor.

Students that have been affected by the suspension of Everest may call (416) 314-0500 or toll-free at 1-866-330-3395 for more information.

Read the Notice from the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
